Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto has been heralded as one of the most beautiful young stars to break out this year. She’s just enjoyed the rousing success of seeing Slumdog win eight Oscars as well as a slew of other awards at nearly every awards show. She’s signed on to be in a Woody Allen film, and she cut off her Indian maybe-husband/maybe-fiance. She has arrived!
Now a cosmetics company is interested in making Freida “the face” of the brand. Estee Lauder is allegedly interested in hiring her to become the first Indian woman to represent their brand globally. Freida would join the ranks of Elizabeth Hurley and The Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow. The Times of India has more:

Actually, what can it not do for a girl? After making a splash on the international circuit in Slumdog Millionaire, Freida Pinto is rumoured to be the new face of the cosmetic giant Estée Lauder. If the deal is finalised, Freida would be the first Indian to be the face of the brand, joining the ranks of Elizabeth Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Freida’s Indian spokesperson does not deny the news of Freida being the new face, saying, “Estée Lauder hasn’t commented so far, so we can’t say anything currently. Nothing is in black and white as yet.”
From walking the ramp for Dolce and Gabbana alongside Scarlet Johansson at the Milan Fashion Week in Italy to bagging a role in a Woody Allen film, with Hollwood stylist George Kotsiopoulos by her side, Freida is everywhere. She’s also been on numerous magazine covers like Entertainment Weekly, Vanity Fair, Maxim, Vogue and Cosmopolitan. It is amazing what fifteen minutes of screen time have done for this 24 year old debutante.

Freida is a very ambitious girl, and it’s nice to see a woman of color have the industry open up in such a spectacular way. It would be a smart move for Estee Lauder too – the potential exposure to a huge market in India and among Indian communities worldwide would pay off in a huge way. Freida is a beautiful girl, and Estee Lauder couldn’t make a better choice.

Sorry Kaiser, gotta disagree here… Yes, she is absolutely stunning to look at, but being “ambitious”, in my opinion, shouldn’t mean pissing on the people who got you where you are.

She’s not the first though, Aishwarya Rai is Indian and she is BEYOND stunning and definitely has people turning to look.
She is so pretty, and she seemed on an unjaded high at every award show. Her personal life is her own business, and I suspect there is lots to that story – on both sides – that we don’t know. She certainly wouldn’t be the first to break up with an first love when big success happened – look at Kate Winslet and Jennifer Hudson, for instance. It doesn’t have to something as shallow as trading up. I tend to believe these women no longer have much in common with the first men, their experiences begin to differ dramatically and there is little to hold the relationship together. At any rate, I wish her well. The fellow in India is gorgeous – I have a feeling he will do just fine.

She’s pretty enough and genuinely nice too.

Pinto will be dumped by everyone the way she dumped her loving, innocent, simple husband. who is going to purchase products advertised by this lady looking like an woman. there is no dirth of dinified beauties in India or in West. Aishwarya, Vidya Balan, Priety Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, Ayesha Takia, Urmila , Gul Panag, Priyanka Chopra…..etc. are the Indian beauties having glamour and sense of style on whom people count. Pinto is just enjoying the easy earned fame for a brilliant movie for which she does not have to really perform. the actual credit should be given to Danney, the child actors and the brilliant Dev and Rehman, Gulzar for music. She has just dressed up well and the media is giving her all attention. She just needs these attention to keep continuing to receive movie offers and the foolish media giving her that.Just leave her too old to cover.
Freida is just stunning and I am very happy for her if she gets the Estee Lauder contract! I think that she is gorgeous, and looks similar to Padma Lakshmi. That Aishwayra wears way too much makeup, etc. in my opinion. I much prefer the beauty of Padma and Freida.
Also, we don’t know the circumstances between her and her fiancee/lover. He could have been lovely, but then again, he could have had problems. It’s just that we do not know so we certainly can’t judge her “morality” based on the few facts that we do know.
Padma Lakshimi is beautiful. Freida is gorgeous. Plus we don’t know if she really left her supposed fiance so why are people talking about it like she did?

I assume all of you who are criticising are still with the first person you ever had a relationship with, right? After all, you are implying that one must do exactly that. Oh, nevermind. She is a single woman who broke up with a boyfriend when the circumstances of her life changed. There isn’t a thing in the world wrong with that.
What hypocrisy. In a world where marriages are considered mere temporary arrangements to be maintained only until a hint of boredom sets in, someone dares to bash her because she dumped a mere boyfriend? Puh-leez. She is a single woman. Why shouldn’t she enjoy her new life unfettered if that is what she wants?
